Projects funded and/or organized by the Sandburg
Foundation include...
- Vehicle Donation Program
Two generous Sandburg families
recently donated their old vehicles to the Foundation,
generating
$1,700 for Sandburg Elementary and its students.
- P.E. Teacher and Playground Partners
Sandburg families and local businesses
succeeded in raising enough funds from the 2009-2010
Jog-A- Thon to pay for a Physical Education teacher who is
providing all Sandburg students with new skills and knowledge of both general fitness and sports. In
addition, Sandburg Elementary teamed up with the YMCA and parent volunteers to organize physical
activities and team sports during lunch recess. All students are encouraged to participate!
- Library Consultant
Students at Sandburg Elementary
benefit from a skilled Library Consultant who works with
them to promote a love of reading and knowledge of
literacy-based technology within the library's new computer lab (also funded with funds raised through the
annual Jog-A-Thon).
- Library Overhaul
Funds raised by the annual Sandburg
Jog-A-Thon in 2007-2008 paid for extensive library
renovations that transformed the space into an engaging and exciting
facility for students, parents, and teachers. Sandburg students visiting the library are enriched
through enhanced technology and expanded literary resources.
- Enrichment Resources for Classrooms
Funds raised by the Sandburg community
go directly to teachers for additional resources to be
used to enrich learning for our students.
